Lemonade
Living in California, we were lucky enough to have a fully grown lemon tree chucking out lemons 24/7. My mother would make lemonade several times a week so I always took it for granted. I failed to properly appreciate the beverage, as a result of overfamiliarity. My brother and I were often tasked with retrieving lemons from the tree and often cursed it for stabbing us while we picked its tart, football-shaped fruit.
Now we live in Arizona. No lemon tree. No lemonade.
Lemonade:
- 1 big ass lemon
- 2/3 cup sugar
- Half pitcher of water
- Lots of ice
Squeeze lemon into pitcher, pick out seeds, throw the lemon in the pitcher, add sugar, add ice, stir, and enjoy on a hot Arizona day [every day].
